For those who are always take out loans and other means of credit for personal or business reasons, then a good credit score matters a lot. A low credit score may not matter as much for those who has money to burn.
For those whose credit score may matter, those three-digit numbers can be the difference between a good and a bad day. For those who realized too late of how valuable their credit score is by neglecting it, there are still ways to help put it back into good shape. Here are just some of the ways:
Keep your credit card balances low.
If you wish to boost up your credit score, try as best as you can to keep your credit card debt balance as low as possible. Bear in mind that trying to use your card near or over the credit limit can seriously affect your credit score. It is important to consider not using more than 30 percent of your credit limit in order to help maintain a good credit score or at least avoid it from going low even further.
Pay credit card bills on time.
Timely payments on your credit card bills matter a lot when it comes to your credit score. Missing any payments or even paying late may brand you as someone who may be a riskier client among credit institutions. Those late payments may find their way into your personal credit record and eventually affect your credit score. Paying your bills on time may be a good way to avoid sinking your credit score even lower.
Piggyback on someone’s good credit.
Another way to help boost your credit score is by riding onto someone else’s good credit rating. You may be able to get someone you know to consider you as an authorized user of a credit card under their name, even if you don’t intend of using the said privilege. This piggyback method can also help improve your credit score.
